Greenwood Vintage Market to host pair
of holiday, winter events

Greenwood Vintage Market in Greenwood is the place to be this holiday season for festive shopping and fun.
The merchant will host its 12 Days of Christmas sale, Dec. 26-Jan. 6. Stock up on big post-Christmas sales from vendors throughout the store.

The Summit Country Antique Show returns to the market on Jan. 27 on Greenwood’s lower level, with tables of authentic American antiques, primitive smalls, and handmades. Admission to the show is $8, and hours for the show are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All aboard for the Midwest Train & Toy Show

Model train enthusiasts, it’s time to don your conductor hat and hop aboard the Midwest Train and Toy Show, Dec. 10.

This is the 40th year for the event.

The show, to take place at the KCI Exhibit Center in Kansas City, will feature more than 200 tables with dealers buying and selling model trains of every age and size, as well as railroad memorabilia, collectibles, and toys. Attendees also may enjoy free viewings of vintage train movies, door prizes, and free parking. Regular admission is $5 for adults (9 a.m.-2 p.m.), while children 12 and under are free. Early bird admission at 7 a.m. costs $15.

Vaile Mansion to host Champagne and Chandeliers fundraiser

Put on your most festive holiday otfit, it’s time for the Vaile Mansion’s big Christmas fundraiser, Champagne and Chandeliers, in Independence.

The Vaile Victorian Society will host the twilight tours on Dec. 2, between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Come and enjoy the mansion’s Christmas ambience while sipping champagne and nibbling appetizers. Tour guides will be available to share the mansion’s history.
Tickets for the event are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. You can purchase tickets at Eventbrite.com.

In adddtion, the entire mansion will be decked out for the “Royal Victorian Christmas,” and open for tours Thursday-Saturday 10-4 ; Sunday 1-4 thru Dec. 30 (closed Dec. 23-25).

Bella Rustina returns for a very vintage Christmas

Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market will be your site for one-stop holiday gift shopping, Nov. 10-12 at the Conway Expo Center.

Kids of all ages expected at annual toy show

Take the kid in you to the annual Midwest Collectors Toy Show and find that special toy you’ve been trying to find since childhood.

The show will take place Nov. 19 at the Marriott Center in Sioux City, with a range of antique and vintage toys, including trucks, tractors, race cars, models, dolls, games, tin, diecast, pedal cars, trains, cast iron, wind-ups, and Tonka. Admission is $6.

Get a taste of the town at Bowling Green’s Christmas shopping event

Craft lovers will marvel at the offerings at the annual Christmas in the Green shopping event, Nov. 16-18 at various locations throughout the town of Bowling Green.

Browse the wares of 15 local merchants selling everything from antiques to crafts, from home décor to sweet treats like chocolates. This year marks the event’s 36th year.

Antique and Vintage Show returns to Lawrence

For lovers of antiques, vintage items, collectibles and just good, old-fashioned junk, it’s time again for the Antique and Vintage Show of Lawrence.

Holiday bargains at Annual Christmas Craft Festival in Burlington

Head out to Burlington for an afternoon of holiday gift shopping at the 44th Annual Christmas Craft Festival on Nov. 18.

It’s the Best Little Show in town for arts and crafts lovers

The Best Little Arts and Crafts Show will bring more than 100 vendors to town Nov. 17-18 in Independence. The show will take place at the Roger T. Sermon Community Center.

The 41st annual event will feature lots of handmade items, including Christmas wreaths, jewelry, ceramics, quilts, kitchen towels, candles, wax melts, paintings, custom t-shirts, garden lights, woodwork, and seasonal décor.

Get ahead of holiday shopping at Walnut Fall Antique Festival

The Walnut Fall Antique and Stoneware Festival returns to town this Oct. 7-8.

Dubbed Iowa’s “Antique City,” this is the 15th year that Walnut will host the event, which offers an array of furniture, Red Wing stoneware, antiques, advertising, Red Wing art pottery, upcycled and repurposed items, and primitives. The festival is sponsored by the Walnut Merchants Association.
